COUNCIL FOR GEOSCIENCE 2015 ASSESSMENT
269 Downloads
A five‐yearly institutional review of the Council for Geoscience (CGS) of South Africa was undertaken between 19 and 30 January, 2015. A review panel of five international scientists held interviews with a large number of stakeholders, as well as with the Management and staff of the CGS. This report reflects the interaction of the panel with the interviewees, and makes recommendations in order to guide the
CGS in its future operations.
The period under review, namely the last five years, has been a period of change at the CGS, as the organisation has recently undergone a re‐positioning exercise starting in early 2014, and is in the process of moving towards a matrix structure. This has affected operations, and the full impact and success of the new structure will only become apparent in the future.
